Every Kid Deserves the Tools to Dream

LEAD360 is a platform for simple, fun service that is easy for everyone, powered by youth-driven solutions. It is a 2-phase challenge. Phase 1 is a contest where we gather the best ideas of young people. Patricia Anne Manubay was this year’s winner of Phase 1 in Education & Literacy. She is an 18-year old graduate of El Camino High School in South San Francisco. JAF first met Patricia as a Students In Action student leader. We challenged her to THINK BIG, pick her own service passion, and engage her community for Maximum Impact. Patricia became the Students In Action Club President, a member of the Jefferson Awards Foundation’s THINK BIG TEAM – our youth advisory council, and has a dream to change the face of Education & Literacy in America through Dream Boxes. Dream Boxes are boxes filled with new and gently used school supplies, books, a Dream Journal and a letter of encouragement. Patricia’s BIG IDEA is that all kids can go to school with the supplies they need and encouragement to pursue their dreams. As the winning Education & Literacy project, the Jefferson Awards Foundation and Patricia ask the country to make a Dream Box.
LEAD360 makes service possible for anyone, offering simple activities and providing an opportunity to engage in public service for those who don’t know how to get started. LEAD360 is about more than new impact- it’s also about partnering with active organizations who are already doing exciting work around the country. LEAD360 celebrates those with the greatest impact – individuals, organizations and all Jefferson Awards constituents for their commitment to service.
