#VoicesofJAF – December 27th – Adam Braun

December 27, 2015 by Kat Krieger

“Service starts at the home and you draw the example from your parents. My parents were always involved in various forms of community service and that was really instilled in my siblings and I. For as long as I can remember, we were always trying to find ways to give back.” – Adam Braun

Adam’s passion for service began in India where a boy begging on the streets told him that the one thing he wanted most in the world was a pencil. From then on, the growing need for education across the world became his mission.
His approach to global education was holistic. Braun started Pencils of Promise with the intention of creating resilient education programs by collaborating with local communities, building schools, and providing support for teachers.
Since 2009, Pencils of Promise has served 33,883 students. Check out https://pencilsofpromise.org for more information.

Help us celebrate more stories like Adam’s and build education opportunities around the world.
