Charles Best leads DonorsChoose.org, a nonprofit organization which provides a simple way to address educational inequity. At DonorsChoose.org, public school teachers create classroom project requests and donors can pick the projects they want to support. Charles launched the organization twelve years ago out of a Bronx public high school where he taught history. DonorsChoose.org engages the public in public schools by giving people a simple, accountable and personal way to address educational inequity. They envision a nation where children in every community have the tools and experiences needed for an excellent education. To date, Donors Choose has raised Dollars raised $377,167,416, funded 652,951 projects, and helped 16,723,268 students.
